Just a quick note to say that throughout Femstruation week its BRING YOUR OWN BOOZE to every event whether that be at the Big Red Door or the Forest Cafe.

Today we are back with another poster. This one is again to show the schedule but we thought we would like to show a female in her best......hmmm not really!!!!! Femstruation week is about showing that a woman is a powerful creature and not just a good housewife. We want the week to be inspiring and empowering and we have ironically tried to portray this by using stereotypical imagery. You will hopefully see this up in Edinburgh very soon.

We have all been working amazingly hard creating interesting things for femstruation week. The week is really beginning to take shape now and its very exciting. Femstruation Week SCHEDULE! 13th - 20th of February 2010 organised by the Edinburgh anarcha feminist Kollectiv

This week-long forray into menstruation will start heavy & end light, with a varied mixture of interactive workshops, gigs, talks, zine stalls, spoken word performances, art installations, photo collections, performance art, video displays, & much more to be contributed.

DIY cloth pad making workshop:
11am-12pm, BRDLearn about and make your own eco friendly sanitary products. Bring needle, thread and flannel/felt.

Marketing Menstruation workshop 12pm-2pm Adventures in Menstruating: Tampon Crafts and Menstrual Euphemisms with Chella Quint and Sarah Thomasin.2pm-4pm BRD Our workshop is open to menstruators and non-menstruators of all genders. 2pm-4pm, Red Tent interactive workshop: 15 people maximum, book in advance. An interactive space exploring birthing, ovulation and menstruation7pm- 11pm ,

Old Hat Books radical library, 5-7pm, Forest Café, open reading session: Bring a story or poem to share, the theme is "what your mother never told you” - bring some cakes to share too!

Body interaction workshop BRD, 8pm-11pm: A workshop exploring attitudes to our bodies and experience of being a woman interactively in a female identified space (Nakedness may occur).

ThurSday 18th :Menstrual Story Telling, 7pm, Forest Café

.Friday 19th:Queer Mutiny: Gender bender theme;BRD 8pm,donation only: Join us for an alternative Queer night: rampage into the menstrual cycle with cunt cakes, body paint, clothes swap, with a sexy red hamper for the best dressed. 8pm, Donation on the door.

The fundraiser will be on the 8th December ( a tuesday) at Tepooka, 7pm, Katrin will kindly confirm this.Rosa will be organising the food, cake stalls?

The flyer is being made between Giovanna and Lizzie (from her amazing flyer she showed us today!)bands..we need to find bands, Scout's riot grrl band will play, Anna Luine will play, and hopefully other bands Giavanna, Scout, and i know, we need to find acts and bands...

ideas for the night include a menstrual performance piece, bands, zine stall and readings, poetry, a visual?Tepooka will host the space, there will be a 50% cut from the takings, and bar

£3 on the door plus money made from the food, hopefully a zine stall?

the formation of the femmestruation week art collective is being set up by anna lucine to begin making the likes of art pieces for the nights and exhibition space, meeting to be held in the next week.

For femmestruation week we are holding the next meeting on 10th November, 6.30pm Forest café.

The minutes

Finance

Elly has set up a bank account for us at Lloyds TSB and is still in the process of organizing a funding proposal from the Ladyfest constitution , she will be in touch with Becca about this and needs to propose this project to continue for a year.

Fundraiser. To be organized by Katrin and Anna Lucine and Soraya. Possibly at Tepooka, Katrin will find out. For the beginning of December. Theme is the femmestruation week, involving a few bands and possible poetry reading from some menstrual zines. Charlotte and Rosa are organizing the food, scouts band will be asked to play? Sephi and Zoe are going to do the flyer, for the 6th December,

Money needs to be raised to print the flyers

Spaces

We are going to hold the comedy and band night at Tepooka, Laura and Anna will organize this. Workshop spaces at the forest cafe, upstairs and crafts room? Out of the blue art space as well for bigger talks?

Film night and spoken word night to be held at ACE. We need to get in touch with them in advance.

Lizzie is getting in touch with the art college in Edinburgh for spaces and support for the permanent exhibition space.

For the permanent exhibition space, the forest is booked up so we need to get in touch with the Bowery, it may be too expensive? We need to hold some workshops there if the exhibition space will be there? The Bongo club is a possibility upstairs but its expensive...

Elly and Becca are going to apply to some funding bodies that LADYfest use, we need to write up a constitution for this. Leeds feminist society are willing to think about fundraising for the week. Can we get funding from the university? Scottish Women's Trust?,

Rosa and Charlotte are willing to organize this. food not bombs skipping style

Gig and art

We need people to join this, Chella is helping out with the film night, comedy night, we need an exhibition space for a week long exhibition and for people to get involved in putting up art for this.

Inclusion

Making sure different communities within Edinburgh are invited, its disability and child care friendly

We discussed making the week a child friendly space, and for it to be inclusive for all genders,All ages and stages-if your children, elderly, menopausal, post menopausal women are welcome!

To make the week fun- period positive, with a menstrual comedy workshop, live cartoon art wall...invite cartoonists?. To make a CD for period positive songs! We need more people to get involved in performing for the event.

Anti capitalist... anti tampons, pro moon cup sponsorship? zine stall, small women owned ethical companies...get moon cup people to speak- they price themselves of the market once you buy one

A possible design for the leaflets? I tried to put the date next to the moon but it came out backwards. Il be redesigning it and can write a short word on it. The date? Intials of the A (narcha) F(eminist) K(ollective) ?

I can also make the tent bigger to allow more text to be written inside. I think the text would look good written on the computer. I can put what I've made into photoshop and text can go over the top.

Do you have text to go in it?
